Come and learn more about the Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust, and other grant opportunities available to public gardens, horticultural institutions, and living museums. The Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust has awarded between $600,000 and $800,000 in 2013 to botanical gardens and other organizations with programs in ornamental horticulture. Many APGA member gardens perfectly fit the mission of the Trust and often make ideal applicants. You’ll learn about the history and mandate of the Trust, an update of previously funded projects, and an overview of what makes for a good proposal submission. Of course, our gardens are also living museums! The Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS) offers upcoming grant opportunities that can benefit gardens and living collections of all sizes. We’ll have materials from them as well as experienced professionals who can point you to the right opportunity, and give you tips a what makes for a good proposal. Registration is required for this lunch.
