Collecting plants in the wild does more than add to an individual institution’s display. With the accelerating rate of climate change and increased globalization, documenting and collecting plants both in our own back yard and around the world becomes increasingly important. Despite the headaches and expenses of wild collecting, institutions can use these endeavors to further their mission, create marketing angles, and bring in development dollars. The panel will discuss the importance of plant collecting in today’s world and how institutions can use these endeavors to advance their mission and enhance development.

This session has been approved for continuing education credit hours by the International Society of  Arboriculture (ISA).
